We stopped in at Biere de Mac on our way to the UP. Located off I-75 exit 337, this unassuming little brewery is simply amazing! Their beers are unique and incorporate the traditions of French and Belgian ales. The food menu is small, but the offerings are tasty and quality is top tier. We tried a flight of 6 beers and the Montreal brisket sandwich, and wow were we blown away by how good everything tasted! The staff was super friendly and welcoming too.

Excellent beer and the panini was great. The bartender was very friendly and it looks like they have a cool extended patio in the back. The inside wasn’t super cozy and the music was down really low so it felt kind of awkward but I think they were watching a game at the bar. Either way we really enjoyed our visit!

In Mackinaw City for a few days and needed something different. This microbrewery has a French twist. Atmosphere is great and so was the beer!! I’ve never seen a Latvian farmhouse ale at any other microbrewery we have visited and we’ve been to a lot in many different states. Had a great flight and then tried two additional pours. If you are in or near Mackinaw City or the island and like great beer, do not miss this place!! It’s locally owned by members of a family who’ve been here for hundreds of years! We will be back!!

Probably the best sandwich we've had. Great food, nice service, everyone was friendly. We ate outside the first time we went and inside tonight and both were nice and surprisingly peaceful for a brewery. We shared the tapanad crostini and each had a sandwich and couldn't finish it all! Everything appears to be homemade and it's all fantastic. Order at the bar, so service could be more but for that quality food, I'm not complaining!

The best food i had in mackinaw city! The shiitake mushroom crostini and the pursuit of happiness made me do a little dance of excitement! The food here is amazing! I cant wait to come back! Also, i am not a beer drinker but the one in here really satisfied me! This place it’s a must visit!!!!

We came here in September 2023. We were choosing between this and another called the Rusty Spoke or something. Chose this for the Belgian beer. So glad we did. The beer was good, but the atmosphere and the food were amazing. We went in the evening. They had strings of lights out, lots of places to sit, some lawn games, and even a large fire pit to sit at. We talked with another couple while we ate and drank. We got the Smoked Whitefish Spread and I think we got the brisket. Both were amazing. We would definitely recommend this place.

I’m sure we’ve been to over a hundred breweries, in a dozen countries or more including France, Germany and Belgium), and Biere de Mac Brew Works in Mackinaw City Michigan is for sure one of the best. Specializing in traditional French and Belgian styles, they have one of the most accomplished and diverse in-house tap lists that we’ve come across. There were no misses, and there menu is the perfect compliment with various smoked meat options and a smoked whitefish dip that is darn near worth trip on its own. The brewers are a trio of mad scientists that are pushing some seriously delicious pints. It’s just off the interstate, nestled in a woody area, and I’m sure the grounds are just as inviting as the beer hall and service were inside. Biere de Mac Brew Works for the win. Literally, as they’ve won many awards, including Michigan’s beer of the year.

What the hell!?! This place is a hidden gem! In the summer the band playing out back and the setup is amazing. Beers are super and the staff is friendly as could ever ask for. I personally had the Blueberry wheat beer and it’s my new favorite. A little bit off the beaten path from the main touristy area but well worth it. You’re welcome!!
